The Marquis-Phillips 2005 Shiraz is more expensive than the previous two wines (somewhere from $18-$22 a bottle), but well worth the few extra bucks.
This positively wonderful Shiraz scored a 91 with Robert Parker! It’s been a hit with everyone I’ve introduced it to, and thus is a great wine to bring somewhere else (or drink in your house by yourself — I don’t judge). So unbelievably smooth and chocolatey (yes, I just made up a wine term), and again, like many of these wines, perfect with or without food. But I’d try it both ways so you can experience the full range of potential this wine offers.
It can be harder to find than some of the others here, so pick up a few bottles wherever you see it.
