Mix It Up With Lychee Cosmos This Weekend
This isn’t your typical cosmo. Actually, it’s probably not much like any cosmo you’ve had before. The lychee juice is sweet, but somewhat acidic, and is incredibly refreshing on a hot summer night.
Lychees, or litchis, are fruit primarily found in Asian countries and with a texture similar to that of a grape, but a bit denser.
They can be found fresh at most Asian markets, but you’ll need a canned version for this cocktail because we’ll be using the juice that the lychees soak in (and a lychee for garnish).
What you need for each cosmo:
1 oz. lychee juice from a can of lychees
2 oz. citrus-flavored vodka
1 oz. triple sec
Splash of white cranberry juice
Splash of fresh sour mix (remember our recipe?)
Combine all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Shake ingredients vigorously. With a shaker strainer, pour into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lychee and think Thailand.
