Cheers to Our New Faces
As we hope you’ve noticed, there are some new faces around the HG.
Melissa Alfano, our resident food-TV expert, has been chronicling the ins, outs, triumphs and tribulations of Top Chef. You’ll see much more of her on the site, and not limited to TV, either.
Patrick Brown traded the ex-pat life in Belgium for Washington’s swampy summers. He brings literary weight to the HG’s table, contributing reviews of foodie books and other stellar work.
Lynne Funk recently transplanted herself from Manhattan to D.C., bringing with her a slew of killer cocktail formulas, simple and fresh recipes, and a true passion for cheese.
Julia Swenson brings baking expertise into the mix from sunny Santa Monica, Calif., where she is a student of Le Cordon Bleu’s baking and pâtisserie program. Look for recipes, features, and baking tutorials from Julia in the months to come.
Mary Taylor just may have the world’s greatest job. Live in Burgundy? Check. Taste wine all day? Check. Write about it? Check. She claims it’s not as easy as it looks, but we’ll reserve judgment on that one. Check out her Thoreau Wine Society here.
Next week we’ll post a meet-the-staff rundown of the similarly adored contributors who’ve been with the HG since its inception.
